August 2022 saw me return to Wild Brown Bear (now know as Bear Centre) in Finland, close to the Russian border (yikes in the current climate – don’t worry, we were safe!)
This time I went with my son Dom & it was a much better trip that the one I had in 2018. We had bear encounters every night, plus a couple of nights we had visits from a rare Wolverine, plus a fox as well.
We had a couple of trips out in between hide sessions & saw a Capercaillie (a first for us) plus Black Throated Divers, Hobby, Goshawks and Great Grey Shrikes.
We missed out on seeing a mother bear with her cubs who visited the site just after we left & I still haven’t seen wolf, moose or reindeer which do appear occasionally. Is that an excuse to go back?
