An annual event in Spring, where male Black Grouse gather at dawn to prove who is the strongest prior to mating with females. This to me is one of the best sights (and sounds!!) in British wildlife photography.
It’s important to note that Black Grouse leks is very susceptible to disturbance. To mitigate against this I was up and on site an hour before first light and parked up before the birds arrived. I used the car as a hide, not leaving until the lekking was over a few hours later.
