This was a well documented encounter during 2021 (but I’ve only just got around to adding the images here) – Wally (as he was nicknamed) was a juvenile Walrus that found himself lost in UK waters from his usual home in the Arctic.
First seen in Ireland he then found his way to the lifeboat slip in Tenby, Pembrokeshire. At the time, Covid travel restrictions had been lifted so we made a spur of the moment decision to head down for the weekend to see if he was still there (fortunately he was) and so we got some great shots of him. After Tenby he made his way to the Scilly Isles and even on to France. The last I heard he had begun to make his way back home to the Arctic!
